2026 Winter Field Day
Broadly, Sat Jan 24 8am
to Sun Jan 25 2pm
Focused: Sat 9am-Noon
"Winter Field Day" is an ARRL sanctioned event.
HOWEVER: GEAR is doing something different.
Gear will be hosting a "Fox and Hound event"
The goal is to practice emergency preparedness during winter conditions.

to set up as a Fox station:
Use your choice of equipment and location (preferably in the field).
Recommendation is some sort of portable or mobile setup, or alternate power of some kind.
Transmit on recommended frequencies.
Call CQ, log contacts, record call signs, location, and equipment setup.
to set up as a Hound station:
Use your choice of equipment and location. Home shack is fine.
Monitor recommended frequencies, respond to Fox CQ's, log contacts.
Record call signs, location, and equipment setup.
